PayPal will allow users in the US to pay with cryptocurrencies

PayPal announced Tuesday that it will allow US customers to pay with cryptocurrency through the service in the coming months, Reuters reports. In any case, it would be bitcoins, Ethereum, bitcoin cash and litecoins.

PayPal previously announced its own crypto exchange and wallet. Cryptocurrencies can be bought and sold through this PayPal service. Now PayPal will start facilitating purchases with cryptocurrency, without having to first exchange it in dollars.

PayPal CEO Dan Schulman tells Reuters that linking cryptocurrencies should be as easy as linking a credit card. The intention is that PayPal customers in the US will soon be able to pay with cryptocurrency at more than 29 million companies.

Car manufacturer Tesla also announced earlier this month that it would accept bitcoins as a means of payment. The company invested $ 1.5 billion in the digital currency. Bitcoin’s value has risen sharply in recent months. At the time of writing, the cryptocurrency is worth more than 50,000 euros. This is double the price at the beginning of this year.
