Is Apple venturing into crypto after all Tech giant publishes interesting vacancy

Tech giant Apple has posted an interesting vacancy online. The company is looking for a Business Development Manager who will deal with “alternative payment methods.” That in itself is nothing striking, but we also find the word cryptocurrency in the vacancy, with wild speculation!

The job posting published today states that Apple is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to build relationships with companies offering alternative payment methods:

“We are looking for a proven professional in global alternative and emerging payment solutions. We need your help in building a partnership framework and commercial models, defining implementation paradigms, identifying key players and managing relationships with strategic alternative payment partners. ”

What do you need for this? Among other things, the candidate must have at least six years of experience in business and market development gained at different companies. What is interesting for crypto fanatics, however, is the following requirement that Apple mentions in the vacancy:

“5+ years of experience working in or with alternative payment providers, such as digital wallets, BNPL, Fast Payments, cryptocurrency etc.”

Is Apple going to venture into crypto after all? Until now, payments within iPhone and iPad apps can only be made through Apple’s system. There are also a variety of restrictions that app developers must adhere to. The CEO of the Coinbase exchange, Brian Armstrong, publicly complained about the latter at the end of last year.

He also previously thought that Apple is hostile to crypto and therefore inhibits innovation. At the time, this was the result of the lawsuit between Apple and Epic Games, the developer of the well-known game Fortnite. That case also revolves around restrictions on payments within applications.

With the recent vacancy, there may be some hope that Apple will allow alternative payments. Apple is obviously a huge player in the tech world and could give a huge boost to crypto adoption. Who knows, we might soon find a native bitcoin (BTC) wallet on iPhones, like Samsung has had for some time!
