MetaMask is a cryptocurrency wallet that you can use to interact with the Ethereum blockchain. The wallet supports any Ethereum-based token (e.g, ERC20, 721).

Although it’s mainly used to interact with the Ethereum blockchain, you can connect it to the Binance Smart Chain as well. That way, you’ll be able to send or receive BNB on MetaMask.

In addition, you can swap BNB for another token on a decentralized exchange like PancakeSwap using MetaMask.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to connect MetaMask to Binance Smart Chain (BSC) so you can send or receive BNB.

How to connect MetaMask to Binance Smart Chain (BSC)

To connect MetaMask to Binance Smart Chain, you need to first install MetaMask and create a new wallet.

Once you’ve created a new wallet, navigate to the “Settings” page by clicking on your profile icon followed by “Settings”.

On the “Settings” page, click on “Networks” and click on “Add Network”.

After you’ve clicked on “Add Network”, you’ll see multiple fields that you have to fill up.

This includes “Network Name”, “New RPC URL”, “Chain ID”, and others.

You need to fill in the fields according to the Binance Smart Chain network.

Once you’ve filled in the fields according to the Binance Smart Chain network, click on “Save” to connect it to MetaMask.

Here’s how you can connect MetaMask to Binance Smart Chain (BSC):

1. Install MetaMask & create a new wallet

Skip this step if you’ve already installed MetaMask on Chrome.

The first step is to install MetaMask and create a new wallet if you haven’t already.

To begin with, open Chrome and go to the MetaMask website.

Once you’re on the MetaMask website, click on the “Download now” button.

After you’ve clicked on the “Download now” button, you’ll land on the “Download” page.

However, if this is your first time using MetaMask, click on “Create a Wallet” to create a new wallet.

In the wallet creation process, you’ll be given a recovery phrase.

Make sure to copy and save the recovery phrase somewhere safe.

This is because you need the recovery phrase to access your MetaMask wallet in the future.

Lastly, you need to verify your recovery phrase to complete the wallet creation process.

2. Navigate to “Networks” & add a new network

On your Network Settings, you’ll see a few networks that you can configure.
