Fox, known for TV shows like The Simpsons, will set up Blockchain Creative Labs to sell NFTs of its intellectual property, including “GIFs, background art and fan tokens for rewards.”
In addition, a new animated series will debut on the NFT marketplace. It is a new animated series from Dan Harmon, the brains behind the popular Rick and Morty and Community series.
The animated series, tentatively titled “Krapopolis,” will be a comedy set in the ancient world of Greek mythology. It’s about a “flawed family of humans, gods and monsters trying to run one of the world’s first cities without killing each other.”
As a company that targets advertisers, puts artists first, and is obsessed with animation, Fox is going to take advertisers into the world of blockchain tokens, including NFTs. Dan’s series, currently titled “Krapopolis”, will be the very first ever to be built entirely on the blockchain. ”
Said Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier. Justin Roiland, the other creator of Rick and Morty, has already sold several multi-million dollar NFTs this year through Nifty Gateway, the Winklevoss twins’ marketplace. Among other things, this Simpsons parody was one of the very first NFTs to gross more than a million dollars.
