Elon Musk wants to put Dogecoin on the moon or is it an April 1 joke? DOGE price rises sharply again

The price of Dogecoin (DOGE) made a big leap today and that is of course because Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk posted another message about it on Twitter:

The “Technoking” says that with SpaceX he will “literally put a Dogecoin on the moon.” With this, one of the richest men on earth is probably referring to a well-known saying in the cryptocurrency world. “To the moon” in this market means that it is hoped that a price will rise enormously.

Whether Musk actually plans to bring a dogecoin to the moon sounds very unlikely, of course. It might just be an April 1 joke, but that doesn’t stop crypto investors.

Immediately after the Twitter message, the DOGE price shot up by no less than 30% to $ 0.07. That’s the highest since early February, shortly after the DOGE hit its all-time high (ATH) of $ 0.084. At the time of writing, however, the price seems to be correcting down again.

Dogecoin already rose by as much as 1,000% in 2021. Initially, this was mainly due to the craze for GameStop (GME) stocks, which spilled over to the crypto market earlier this year, but Musk’s frequent tweets have also contributed to this.
