Is Elon Musk Taking Away From Dogecoin (DOGE)? First, a DOGE fan claims on Twitter that Dogecoin is in good hands with Musk in charge:
Elon Musk appears to be treating Dogecoin like one of his own companies. He actively advertises DOGE in the marketplace, is involved in the community, and uses his technical and leadership skills to contribute to the development of DOGE. With Elon as “Doge CEO” we are in good hands! ”
However, the self-proclaimed “Dogefather” then points out to fans on Twitter that he is not in charge of this cryptocurrency:
"Please keep in mind that Dogecoin has no formal organization and no one reports to me, so my ability to take action is limited."
Recently, a sample showed that more than half of Australians think the Tesla and SpaceX CEO is also the originator of Bitcoin (BTC). Perhaps that percentage is even higher for people who think that Musk is the inventor of Dogecoin.
Dogecoin originated as a parody of crypto years ago. The project has not seen any development for years and a large part of the crypto community is therefore not so enthusiastic that Musk tweets about this crypto so often.
Musk recently met with a group of North American bitcoin miners. That led to the creation of the “Bitcoin Mining Council,” a group that aims to make Bitcoin’s energy consumption from green power more transparent. This initiative also receives a lot of criticism from the community. MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor hosted and recently defended the meeting.
