For some time now, it has been a true hobby of Elon Musk to quote the meme-coin Dogecoin (DOGE in his tweets. With a satirical undertone, the founder of Tesla writes about the coin with some regularity, after which it almost always continues a considerable price movement. This much to the chagrin of the supervisory body in the United States, the SEC.
However, Elon Musk does not seem to care about this, because again Elon and Dogecoin are linked. Musk will soon be making his debut for a world-renowned American satirical program. Saturday Night Live (SNL) will be broadcast by the American billionaire in person.
Elon Musk hinted on Twitter that Dogecoin will be part of his contribution to SNL on May 8. On Twitter, he announced himself for SNL’s episode as “The Dogefather,” probably referring to the title of Snoop Dogg’s second album, another Dogecoin fan.
On Sunday, MarketWatch released Elon Musk’s opening monologue supposedly edited by the US SEC. Afterwards it turned out that this was a joke. The monologue clearly shows the words “Doge” and “to the moon”, one of Elon Musk’s favorite sayings regarding Dogecoin.
Clearly, despite many people’s disapproval, and even the SEC, Elon Musk has no intention of stopping referring to Dogecoin continuously. In the past, Dogecoin’s course has reacted violently to comments and tweets from Elon Musk. Whether this trend will continue in the future will be seen soon enough. The SNL broadcast with Elon Musk will be broadcast on 8 May.
After Musk’s tweet, the price jumped up by 23% for a while, after which DOGE dropped back a bit. At the moment, however, DOGE is once again in the plus. Compared to 24 hours ago, the price has seen an increase of 20%.
