Dogecoin (DOGE) is now accepted as a payment method at this large American web store

Newegg, a major US online retailer, now accepts Dogecoin (DOGE) payments through BitPay. The store announced this on April 20, or “Dogeday,” via Twitter:

Earlier today it was already announced on LOUDLABS that Dogecoin fans have transformed April 20 into “Dogeday.” Dogecoin is (almost) the only crypto that is in the plus today in a red-colored market.

Dogecoin price set a new all-time high of $ 0.42 yesterday and it looks like this record may be broken again today. However, the DOGE rate is unlikely to rise to $ 1 today, let alone $ 4.20, as fans are calling out.

“The excitement and momentum surrounding cryptocurrency is undeniable, and the recent rise in Dogecoin value underscores the need to make it easier for customers to make purchases with this popular cryptocurrency.”

According to Andrew Choi, Newegg’s brand manager. The online webshop became one of the first major retailers to accept payments with bitcoin in 2014. The founder of Dogecoin actually found out last month that Newegg accepts payments with DOGE:

“Did you know Newegg accepts Dogecoin to make purchases? So when someone asks, “What can you buy at all with a meme currency ?!” you can say something like, “well, TVs, computers, cameras, playstations, software, video games, tech accessories, appliances, furniture, smartphones.” “

Says Billy Markus. Yet many people also warn against this crypto, because it once originated as a joke and there are concerns that this is a bubble that could burst at any moment. Even Markus calls Dogecoin a parody.
