Do you want to mine Dogecoin (DOGE) and bitcoin (BTC) with your electric car? Tesla competitor makes it possible

Daymak, a Canadian electric car manufacturer, announced a special new car on June 1. The new electric vehicle, called “Spiritus,” can crypto-mine when the car is parked or charging.

“Spiritus is the first car in history to have mining hardware and cryptocurrency technology programmed into the user interface. A zero-emission car for everyday use with solar charging capabilities, Daymak’s Spiritus is an eco-friendly crypto-mining computer, marking an unprecedented milestone in the rapid evolution of blockchain technology.”

The Spiritus supports mining for bitcoin (BTC), ethereum (ETH) and dogecoin (DOGE). The car will have a built-in GPU especially for mining, but no further details are known for the time being. How effective and profitable this will be remains to be seen.

“We envision a future where your road toll, your parking space and your drive-in order are paid directly with crypto. Your online invoices and your banking can be handled through the same software platform that is paid in crypto. And while most vehicles drop in value while they’re in your garage, the Nebula Miner will earn you money while your Spiritus is parked.”

Said Aldo Baiocchi, President of Daymak. The Spiritus will launch in 2023 and comes in two versions. The ‘deluxe’ model costs $19.995 (€16,425) and the ‘ultimate’ model costs a whopping $149,000 (€122,000). Daymak is already taking orders and accepting bitcoin, ether, doge and cardano (ADA) for it.
