If you tried to look at the dark red numbers on CoinMarketCap (CMC) or take a position on Coinbase earlier today, you have probably already experienced it yourself; your access to the website has been denied and your fate is in the hands of the exchange to resolve their downtime.
Coinbase, which is occasionally offline according to its status page, has already received nearly 10,000 notifications on Downdetector. The entire market is in turmoil due to a crash that has sunk the entire market deep into the red.
Even Binance is only half standing while users have difficulty accessing the futures options and the mobile app. The aforementioned exchanges have discontinued withdrawals for Ethereum (ETH) and coins built on ERC20.
Frustrations do not only arise with the regular investors, but also with big names such as Anthony “Pomp” Pompliano, who states that there is nothing more frustrating than trying to buy cheap Bitcoin (BTC), but cannot do this due to the too high traffic on the exchanges.
As Pompliano states, the different teams behind the platforms are working hard in the background to keep everything running. In the meantime, it is a matter of patience and perhaps a lot of refreshment until the websites become accessible again.
