Yesterday morning we saw a beautiful green market, but today it turns quite red. The total market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies just reached $ 2.6 trillion yesterday, but has since dropped by about 8% to $ 2.4 trillion.
Bitcoin (BTC) was still close to $ 60,000 yesterday morning, and the price was finally starting to look bullish again. After that, however, bitcoin fell pretty hard. The price fell back below $ 55,000 this morning after a decline of about 8%. At the time of writing, the price is climbing back towards $ 56,000, but the peaks and troughs are getting lower and a further drop today would not be surprising.
Ethereum (ETH) hit a new all-time high (ATH) of around $ 4,220 yesterday evening. Shortly thereafter, however, the price also plunged down about 6.5% from $ 4,150 to $ 3,880. Over the night, ether swung back and forth between $ 3,850 and $ 4,100 and for the first time in weeks it looks like the ether price may not hit another record today.
XRP (XRP) came in at $ 1.61 yesterday morning but then started to decline. In the evening the price fell equally hard to $ 1.32. That is a decrease of no less than 18%. After that, the price recovered slightly and XRP continued to hover between $ 1.38 and $ 1.44 overnight.
Dogecoin (DOGE) also lost a lot in value. On Sunday, DOGE fell nearly 40% after Elon Musk’s guest appearance at SNL, dropping from a new ATH from $ 0.72 to $ 0.44. At the end of the day, the Dogecoin rate recovered to $ 0.58, but dropped back to $ 0.42 yesterday, down 17.5%. Over night, Dogecoin hovered between USD 0.44 and USD 0.49.
Unfortunately, we see a lot of crypto in the red today. VeChain (VET), Solana (SOL), Chiliz (CHZ), Enjin (ENJ) and Holo (HOT) are down about 10%. Litecoin (LTC), Polkadot (DOT), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Chainlink (LINK), Venus (VXS), Zilliqa (ZIL), Tron (TRX), NEO (NEO), Fantom (FTM), Tezos (XTZ) are all even about 11 to 12% in the min. Cosmos (ATOM), Sushi (SUSHI), Ontology (ONT), EOS (EOS), OMG Network (OMG), Ethereum Classic (ETC) and Qtum (QTUM) even have Lost 15% or more of their value. ICON (ICX) is the biggest loser today and is 18% in the minus.
Nevertheless, there are still some risers on the market today. Exchange tokens such as Leo Token (LEO) and Huobi Token (HT) are about 17% in the plus. The biggest riser today is Yearn.Finance (YFI), which is even more than 20% in the plus and just established a new ATH at around $ 67,000.
